Building a Cohesive Team at OneWeb
The Challenge
OneWeb’s Background
Since 2021, Let’s Talk Talent has been a strategic partner to OneWeb, supporting various initiatives as the organisation grows and evolves. In this particular project, the LTT team were tasked to support a newly formed team, along with the integration of a new senior leader. The ask was to design and facilitate a 2-day team away day, with a primary aim to strengthen team cohesion, align on strategic and operational goals, and build a foundation of trust and mutual respect among team members.
OneWeb’s Objective
To deliver an immersive, two-day team development experience designed to empower the team to be “Strategically Brilliant and Operationally Excellent” by building alignment on purpose, roles, and effective collaboration practices.

Approach and Implementation
The 2-day team away day was carefully crafted to drive both strategic clarity and interpersonal connections:
- Personal Insight Session
- Prior to the event, each team member was asked to share something unique about themselves, in picture form, that others wouldn’t necessarily know. This exercise encouraged deeper team bonding, allowing individuals to see each other beyond their roles and learn something new about their colleagues.
- Strategic and Operational Alignment
- Through interactive workshops and discussions, the team explored their collective purpose and broke down team strategic objectives into individual roles, contributions and responsibilities. This ensures clarity and alignment on ‘why we are here’ and ‘what we need to deliver.’
- Team Behaviours and Collaboration
- Facilitated activities on effective team behaviours led to the co-creation of a team charter, focusing on respect, trust, and operational excellence.
